Brisbane

Brisbane was a very short stop. One night on this side of Fraiser Island and one night on the way back to Sydney. We stayed at Globetrekkers, a very nice hostel where we lightened our load on the way to Fraiser. We did manage to have an interesting evening none-the-less........

At the bus stop downtown we located a water fall in the heart of the city.

We wondered past China Town. Isn't there one of these in every major city?????

Walking on one of the bridges there we had our first encounter with native fruit bats. Did not know what they were at that time. Found that out the next day. Had dinner at Jo Jo's in the Queenstreet Mall.  Very good food. Then on they walk back to the hostel we stopped by a few pubs. The first being the Vienna cafe by the river. Tested the desserts and had some sparkling wine. The next stop was O'Dooleys. I hadn't had my camera with but Christopher did. He took these shorts of Charlie playing pool  with one of the locals at an Irish Pub we stopped at for a few beers.

After a good night's sleep we were off to The Lone Pine Koala Santcuary. What I had been waiting for the whole trip.
