Coffs Harbor

Dinner this evening was brought to us by the Boar's Head. It was a very interesting dining experience. Forgot to get a picture of it here but have some at a later destination. It was very good. Reminded me of Outback here. Christopher got the joy of being called a wuss because he didn't want to drink his beer out of a bottle. And the reason he got called a wuss is because while he was in the bathroom Jennifer asked for a glass for him from the waiter. The waiter brought a glass and just had started to leave when Christopher returned and the waiter called him a wuss. It was an interesting moment enjoyed by all.............

AND the day I had been waiting for! My Birthday! Woke up and went for a walk on the beach at Coffs. forgot my camera of course and saw a few things I really wanted to take pictures of. Wanted to go back but never got a chance. OH WELL!!!!! Walked up to the mall and got a shirt that has the Pepsi logo on it and instead of it saying Pepsi it says Sexsi. Couldn't resist, bought it. Walked back to the hotel:

We were planning on going up to the Dorrigo Park rainforest so we wanted to leave about noonish. Went back to wake Fer up and she decided she didn't want to go. So off Christopher, Charlie and I went. Our first stop was George's goldmine. WHAT A TRIP!!!!!! The road was technically 2 lanes but only one car could fit comfortably. On one side was a cliff and on the other side a dropoff. The road was also very twisty. And being my birthday I opted to drive. Oh what a trip it was! Then to the mine we were. George's goldmine. There he showed us how they mined for gold with a stamper and panning.
George and the stamper.Showing us a piece of gold that was created with the gold out of his mine. Panning for gold. The back end of the stamper.BIG stamper out in the back 40.Steam engine. What do you think? Miners? In the mine we went George showed us were the rifts of quartz were. We also got to see glow worms.

This Brahma bull was a little testy. If not for the dog he might have charged us when we came out of the mine.
On our way back out the road leading to the mine we looked and saw a wild kangaroo just sitting there. He was nice enough to pose for us to get a few pictures.
offroad.JPG (26496 bytes)There was definitely a lot of scenic shots off the road.
Well, we got to the rainforest technically anyway. It getting too late for us to actually go to the park but we did pose with the sign.
Isn't this a nice looking road? Here I am in the car. Opposite of what they are here.I got Christopher here. Don't think he was ready for it. The road that we were driving on had been dedicated, I got a picture of the dedication so I would know to who. There was a sign in a little turn off that said of this waterfall "do not walk in the road to get a picture of the waterfall." I read it after walking in the road to go up and get a picture. Lesson: don't know I didn't get hit so.........Sunset..............
