Homeward Bound

After the day trip to the Blue Mountains I returned to the Hyde Park Hotel where we were spending our last evening in Australia. There I arrived shortly after Jennifer and Charlie, a little after 6pm. There evidently had been some delays with their flight from Cairns. One nice little feature was at the hotel waiting for me was a little note with a sm. bottle of wine from the hotel welcoming us back and thanking us for staying at their hotel again. I thought that was a nice little touch. We ending up walking down Oxford Street looking for somewhere to dine. What I had hoped to be a good meal on our last night was a disaster. The place looked appetizing but the food was terrible. They couldn't even cook my steak properly. Oh well. We had a nice long walk and arrived back at the hotel at 10:30 to go to sleep. Charlie had bought a book that looked appealing and I stayed up until 2 am reading the whole thing. I was getting a head start on getting back on US time. So the time change would not affect me that much was my guess for staying up so late.

After a good night's sleep we were ready to depart once again for the Sydney Airport.

Here we are at the airport. With all our purchases made. Ready to embark on our 13.5 hour flight to LA. After 3 weeks we were finally on our way home. I for one wish there was more time there and definitely will return in the future. Then I will visit the interior and other cities I had not had the chance on this trip!

AUSTRALIA II coming soon.......well Ok maybe not for a few years. I can wish though!
