The rest of the Sanctuary

Remember our first encounter with the bats in Brisbane the night before? Well here they are up close. Some of them are  gray flying fox bats and others are black ones. The ones that have the orangish heads are the grays, odd if you ask me but that is what they are called.

Here we see the lovely Tasmanian Devil in the begging position. He was running around his pen so fast that even this pose was quick. I waited for it and even at the click of the shutter he moved, making me think I missed it. Even with the pen in the way I believe I got a fairly good shot of him.

Here lizard, lizard, lizard. Actually from what I am told this was an iguana. He was wondering around the picnic area where we had our lunch.

Earlier at the Tarongo zoo we had the pleasure of viewing a sleeping Wombat and all I could get a picture was of his butt. Now here is the real wombat, not just his butt!

While in Brisbane the others wanted to visit the XXXX Brewery (called 4X brewery). I hadn't really any interest in it and after talking to the gentleman at Globetrekkers while leaving the hostel he suggested that we skip it and stay longer at Lone Pine. I decided that I would and Charlie, Christopher and Jennifer left me there to see tha Koalas at feeding time. This is a good time to see them as the carers take out the old leaves and you can see all of the koala's in the pens because there is no where to hide. Some of them were even running around on the ground. It was a good experience because I also got to hear the Koala talk and the Bat talk to learn a little more about the animals.

Now on to the Koala's and Kangaroos. TONS of pictures of them.
