Cairns (cans)
Pretty painless flight. Arrived at 10 am and by 1pm we had a hotel, a car, reservations for rafting the next day, and reservations for snorkeling the day after that. Talk about getting things done!
Our first experience of the Cairns would be Kuranda Rainforest. There we would take the Skyrail to the top of the hill and see the rainforest at various stops. At the top there are all sorts of shops and restaurants where you can explore for hours. We had a limited time as the last Skyrail down the hill would be at 3:45. We started up at 1:30 and it takes about 30 minutes to get to the top. At the top we had about an hour to explore.

Well, in a rainforest it rains. We got rained on. We also saw lots of forest.
The view from the Skyrail of the ocean and land below was breathtaking.
After the Rainforest it was off to Port Douglas for dinner. And a view of some mountains covered with mist.
After wondering the streets for about an hour we finally chose this establishment for dinner.
While walking the streets we had another encounter with the fruit bats. They were flying into trees along the sidewalks. I got this shot after one landed in a tree near us.
